Product Overview


Polydicyclopentadiene (PDCPD) is a highly recognized environmentally friendly advanced material in today’s world. It is a high-molecular polymer produced through the olefin metathesis polymerization of dicyclopentadiene (DCPD), which is purified from petrochemical by-products such as C5 and C9 fractions, under metal catalysis. Its manufacturing process adopts Reaction Injection Molding (RIM). The entire process is an exothermic reaction with extremely low energy consumption. During molding, no wastewater or solid waste is generated, and emissions are almost zero. In addition, the finished products can be harmlessly recycled and reused, enabling a fully closed industrial chain. PDCPD is therefore regarded as a model of “Green Chemistry.”

This material is lightweight (with a specific gravity close to that of water) and offers great freedom in product design. It not only possesses a high elastic modulus, but also demonstrates outstanding impact resistance, excellent creep resistance, thermal stability, and superior corrosion resistance, weather resistance, and paintability. These characteristics make it particularly suitable for manufacturing covers and structural parts for construction machinery, agricultural machinery, trucks, and automobiles, as well as large integrated molded products such as sanitary equipment and septic tanks.
